The 2nd MALITA Workshop in Toyama, Japan 2007

The 2nd NOWPAP Workshop on Marine Litter was held on 28-29 March 2007 in Toyama, Japan.


The main topics at the workshop are in the following six aspects: 1) countermeasures against marine litter; 2) reduction and prevention of marine litter; 3) fisheries-related marine litter; 4) coastal cleanup and marine litter monitoring; 5) marine litter management policies and systems; and 6) regional actions against marine litter.
The Second MALITA Working Meeting was held on 30 March 2007 right after the 2nd MALITA workshop. The meeting reviewed the current progress of the MALITA implementation and discussed further steps to be taken, especially about RAP MALI (Regional Action Plan on Marine Litter Management).
