The 17th NOWPAP DINRAC Focal Points Meeting was held in Dalian, China

The 17th NOWPAP DINRAC Focal Points Meeting was held during 22nd-23rd August 2019 in Dalian, China. Officials from Dalian Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment, Liaoning Province, China attended the meeting and made opening remarks, which emphasized the significance of the in-depth cooperation in the marine environment of the Northwest Pacific region and the expectation of UN 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda at the regional level. DINRAC Focal Points of the People’s Republic of China, Japan, Republic of Korea and Russia Federation, representative from Regional Coordinating Unit, and other marine environmental experts attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed the progress made since the 16th DINRAC Focal Points Meeting, including Major Marine Environmental Data Available Project, Collection of Data and Information on Species Filed in the Red Lists Project, Human Marine Activity Project, Sea Reclamation State and Management Project and Development of DINRAC Website and WebGIS System. The meeting also discussed and agreed on the implementation plan and proposed a budget for DINRAC activities in the 2020-2021 Biennium. DINRAC Focal Points also discussed the future arrangements on Northwest Pacific Regional Node of the Global Partnership on Marine Litter and the coherence working area based on the NOWPAP Mid-Term Strategy 2018-2023.
